I am a writer, editor, and communications professional spending autumn 2019 freelancing and on the proverbial road.
A native Phoenician, I moved to Denver in 2012 after graduating with a master’s degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. I spent six-plus years working as a digital editor for Denver’s award-winning city and regional magazine, 5280. Though my position evolved significantly over the years, in its latest iteration, I produced an award-nominated daily newsletter, co-directed 5280.com’s editorial strategy, and became a leader in all things digital within the company. Notably, a personal essay I wrote, “My Father’s Final Gift,” was part of a feature that won an Ellie, the industry’s highest honor, from the American Society of Magazine Editors in 2019.
